Graphic Signs and Symbols: Symbol Portfolio

Well, this is the end of the road for my graphic signs and symbols experience. The last project was to create a portfolio of everything we have done in the class thus far. I'm not going to post the entire 26 pages but you can always ask me to see it. Here is a couple pages from the book.

Graphic Signs and Symbols: Project 5

This project is for a high-fashion dog boutique. The presentation board shows my processes in how I got to the final logo. Oh, and you just have to laugh at the name. ;) A guy in my group thought of it.

Illustration - Project 1

This was my first Illustration project. We were to come up with three concepts that involved a celebrity and their "pet." The pet is supposed to be more allusive than realistic. This concept is Oprah Winfery and her pet butterfly. The butterfly represents how she has come from poverty and abuse to the most powerful female in the world.

And, don't make fun of Oprah and my lack of illustration skills.
Watercolor on watercolor paper. 12in x 17in.

Drawing 2 - Final Project

This is my final project from my drawing class from last term. I was to use a style of a previous artist, in my case, Fernand Leger, and apply it to our subject which was a bus stop.

My piece-
Mixed Media: Marker, Charcoal, White Charcoal. Drawing Paper: 9in x 12in.
The City. Fernand Leger. Oil on Canvas.

Graphic Signs and Symbols: Project 3

What you see above is called an infographic. Basically an infographic is displaying information in a beautiful way, rather than a boring bar graph. We were given the client (mypyramid.gov) and needed to  display the nutritional information in common fast food items. Btw, did you know that as of January 2011, mypramid.gov officially dropped the food pyramid from their suggested healthy diet?

Print Production - Project 2

We were given all these mailers and were to redesign and prepare them properly for print. Let me tell ya, I have a lot more respect for a real print shoppe (not kinkos.) These projects use a variety of full color, pantones, bleeds, etc.

After Effects - Final Project

This project is a title sequence for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Here are the sketches and rough comps. The finished piece will be uploaded next week.
